What an awesome ride today! If you can ride a bike you need to get yourself to Bealach Na Ba! Fantastic scenery and 600 metres climbing over 6 miles – totally worth it! Then it’s another 1200m climbing to get yourself to Kinlochewe.
Bloody exhausting but most excellent day! Thanks to my hero Sharon Hassan who came to take my luggage to camp at silly o clock. I wanted to enjoy the famous climb on my bike and if she hadn’t collected bags I’d have and most certainly had to push bike for an hour! (Only took 1hr 30 to get to the top and 20 mins down – amazing descent – best days riding! ) It was awesome to see Jeni Rees-Jenkins Matt Rees-Jenkins and their clan too!! Great party at Sheildag with cake and more coffee!
Most especially thanks to new bike friends Richie and Wes whose banter and encouragement kept me going. Great to see Bruce Manson and Duff again today too! Also met up with lovely folk for supper and will ride a bit with them tomorrow with bike fully loaded again (more hills 🙂 ). Weather fab again, couldn’t have been better. What a beautiful country we live in xx (PS – sorry no airbrushing – I sweat a lot haaaa)
